Not that it is a big deal but since your car is an 85 your diagnostic port is red not black ,I know you can buy the black cover on eBay I just did.

possibility its been discontinued and superseeded to black? I sourced the PN from the vin on my 84 323. Yet to check if the one on my car is red or black. Not that it really matters as the later E30 ports all have black covers.

My port and cover on my '86 are black. Never seen a red one before now.

yep the one on my 84 is red.. so superseded to black now
