So this has been plaguing my m20 for some time. It's very intermittent and so of course never happens at my mechanic's. It happens anytime, cold or warm. The problem is a hard start, sometimes really long cranking. Then followed by a "stutter"... It will also have low power and can stall out under load if the accelerator is pressed too quickly. (This happens sometimes even after I get it running ok, at stop lights etc). If I take it out of gear I can "clear its throat" by revving, with plenty of blue smoke from the exhaust. The stutter will cause the whole car to shake, it's pretty unhappy.
The video is right after I got it started, long cranking, kept it in park and revved it. It's hard to hear or see in the tach, but on the second rev you can see/hear a little of the problem especially at the beginning of the rev. Once it's over 3k it's usually clear.
Any thoughts? I'm thinking maybe leaky injector? Any help much appreciated.
