pressue regulator????

On my 87 325is there is what looks like a pressure regulator directly infront of my fuel filter.
Is it supposed to be there?
It is just hanging there off the hoses looking out of place.
It does say bosch on it so I thought it might belong there.

umm that isnt a pressure regulator, it's a pressure pulsation damper

The pressure regulator is located on the front of the fuel rail in the engine compt...

It's a damper. Not required and will eventually leak.
