I need help changing my fuel filter! (85 318i)

I'm new to working on cars and I need a bit of help. I've located my fuel filter and it looks like there are three hoses coming out of the left side. The filter I bought for it only has 1 place for a hose. Also, what is the hose hanging under the filter? As far as I know, I'm only supposed to disconnect the hoses on either side and it's a simple swap.

EDIT: Also, if this is the pump, where is the filter in relation to it?

That is your fuel pump, not the filter. Two of the 3 "hoses" are actually wires. There is a transfer pump in the tank and this one under the car is the high pressure pump.
