    afm measurements and running poorly

I am trying to figure out why my 87 325is runs like pooh.
I just tested the afm and got the following results.
    @ roughly 82f temp sensor reads 2370
1820 ohm closed it reads 2830 around 3/4 open but then starts going back down as low as 2300 when its all the way open.
I've read its supposed to read 2400 to around 3400 is that correct?
These numbers seem dependant on temprature as I put a cold pack near the temp sender and the resistance a few hundred or so but still went down when all the way open.
Also looks like someone was plying with the mixture valve in it.
    Is it junk?
The car runs like crap bellow 3000 rpm seems pretty happy after that.
Ive checked for and fixed several vaccum leaks.
Checked vaccum measured 17-18 @ idle and rises steadily with rpm
    New plugs
    cap and rotor
    plug wires
    throttle pos switch
temp sensor the one for the comp not the gauge
    thermostat
checked timing @ crank hub to cyl head
    fuel filter is free flowing
I realy want to know if this is the problem before I throw more money at this thing.
Working...
