    Best e30 shop in CT

Anyone know a good shop in CT. looking to have my e30 325is looked at. Has a strange idle. Sounds like it's camed some times then will go back to normal. Also has a strange knocking or clunking noise can figure out if it's the engine or tranny. Only happens when idling and clutch out in neutral

Performance Imports Danbury, Ct. Very knowledgeable, very honest, appreciates the cars. Auto Technic New Milford, Ct. E30 and E34 is their main business. Hard core group of BMW enthusiasts.

Same as SSR I don't own a shop but I'm 9 miles from you in Longmeadow.

PM me if you want to come over and I'll take a look at it, smoke test is likely the first step. This'll give me an opportunity to use my newly built smoke machine.

Okay so found mostly the cause of the strang idle. Came from where the splined cast piece of the ICV mates the intake manifold. Sprayed some carb clean on the gap and idles really high. I nearly used some Jb weld to seal it. Idle has clean up a lot but still has some stumble and a tad bit of a pause when hitting the gas at idle. Drives perfect though. Any thoughts?

Thank you guys for the shop suggestions seawolf I may have to hit you up on that offer.

No problem just drop me a PM when you're thinking of dropping by.

Don't JB Weld the TB elbow(s), do this if you want it to last:

If you want to keep the original look you can drill and tap a hole through the TB and elbow and use ptfe tape and a securing screw to seal and hold the elbow in place.

JB is such a hack job.

Oh I know jb weld is a hack job. I did it the best I could. It was a Friday and needed the car Saturday. It actually didn't come out that bad. A little bit of paint and some sanding and you wound know it was their.

Yeah I'll have to swing by sometime. I don't know to many bimmer guys in the area.
