blue top coolant sensor???How to take off

Hi: I did try to search, but it seems the 1989ix is a bit different and could not find any information.
:) Does anyone know how to get the blue top coolant sensor off on a 89ix. It is way down on the back side of the thermo. and I can't get a 19mm deep socket on there?:(

Any help would be great!!!!

I think you're going to have to remove the thermostat housing to get at that sensor.

I think you are right. The bmw shop removes or moves back the fuel rail
to do the job:(
