Converting E30 LHD auto with an E30 RHD manual kit

    Hi,

Firstly let me say I am in New Zealand and love this forum. I managed after a few years of looking found a mint for age 325i e30 1991 with a limited sports auto, the one with the sport Econo switch. It is LHD which you guys would love. One owner 122 000 km imported from JAPAN BUILT IN GERMANY. I sourced a RHD manual 318 which I want to use the conver mine to manual. I however got another Geetrag 260 with the right serial number for my 325i conversion. My question is mine being LHD and the other being RHD is their anything that I would need which is specific for LHD that my donor car won't have. BTW mine is an Mtech 2 4 door but Sadly it is like the ones originally sold in NZ because of very long waiting list and the cost of the Mtech it appears here and Japan got standard 325i which were then setup like Mtech 2 and then sold. Can I have a confirmation of this story or a reference to red. Thanks. In advance I would like to thank everyone for answering both my queries.

BTW I am a middle aged guy who grew up in South Africa loving our 327is and 333i. Being in my teenage to early 20's but unfortunately a poor boy who never could afford one. Little did I know 20 years later immigrating to NZ I would finally get to own one. I think once I have a few years of joy when I struggle to get into it I may look to your shores to sell it. Take care all and thanks for the advise in advance,

You're going to need to parse that stream of consciousness with paragraphs.

That said, there is very little actual difference between an auto and a manual E30. It shouldn't be an issue to use a manual RHD kit to convert.

I'm not clear on whether you want to go manual, or keep it auto. There are a few wiring and plumbing wrinkles related to your choice there, but they are fairly minor.
