My engine would run warmer at stop lights and my AC would only cool when the car was moving. I Ran the usual tests at the radiator switch and then tested the K1 and the high speed relays. Only
The high speed relay bypass would switch on the fan. As suspected it turned out to be the low speed resistor. Mine is a Magna type (85W 0.5ohm) and probably 24 years old. I also read about the large 100W 0.5 ohm TE resistors being an upgrade but not fitting in the OEM position. Turns out this Amazon resister's screw holes align perfectly. Soldered the resister on without the need for extra wire. Now my fan runs with the AC switch. Yeah.
