    another shifter assembly procedure question

    how the hell do you get the upper ball cup on the shifter? (#10)

    That piece fits around the ball, right? I think you just push really hard and it snaps on. It's made of plastic right?

    I would slide it onto the shifter, hold it on the sides and then push down on it while standing the shifter upright on a table or something. Get what I mean?

    I could be completely wrong with this. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

        i couldnt push it on... so i filed it a little... teehee, a little much. still works

          You have to get it in the right posistion push it in then turn it to lock. I think.

            wrong. the picture i displayed is for 84-87(?) plate style shift arm.

            though you would have been right if i needed info on the late model aluminum shift arm with single piece ball cup.
