Ok, more tire fitament questions.... (and pics to boot)

Ok, I currently have the 225/45s in the rear and 205/50s in the front in the Dunlop Sport9000s. I am switching to the AVS ES100s and want to see what I can fit on my car.

Do the ES100s have a lip around the bead to protect the wheel like the dunlops? Also this is what the tire calc came up with.

Going from 205/50 on 16x7 to 215/45 on the same wheel makes, the combo 1/2" shorter and .39" wider.

Then in the rear going from the 225/45s to 245/45s means .7" taller and .8" wider.

That means the front will be 24" tall and the rear will be 24.7" tall.

I know it will be close but you think I can fit them on? Hitting the strut is my main concern at the moment.

Here is what I am working with now.
Space to the strut with the 205/50s on (I can fit the tips of my fingers in):

Here is the space in the rear (should be no prob):

Here is the room to the wheel well on the back (this is after jumping on the rear bumper to settle shock):

And here is mounting the 16x8 with the same offset as the 16x7 on the front. The wheel has like 1mm clearance but the protective bead on the tire just touches the strut.
I could fit the 16x8 on the front easy with a 3mm spacer.

I am probabaly going to try and order the tires tommorow or wednesday so I can get them mounted next week. Maybe order some small 1-3mm spacers or something if anyone knows where to get some just to be safe.
    Im now E30less.

I think they will fit fine. H&R has a 5mm spacer, but I'm guessing that the new tires will work without them. Just look at the spacing that you have now between the tire and the strut. Why don't you just get 225/45 for the fronts? They are closer to stock size and they fit perfectly.

The AVS 100s don't really have a lip to protect the rims at all, maybe a very little. The guy I got my rims from was running 205/40's on a 17x7.5 rim and i'm driving very nicely over bumps and railroad tracks so as to protect the rims.

Yea I got these on my weaves. They do have a rim protector bar, but like Avus said it could be better. Wow these tires are great though, you'll love 'em

Umm....why?? I run 8.5x17's in the front and a 235/40R17 Yoko AVS ES100. I HAVE ABOLUTELY NO RUBBING. When are you people going to learn to just throw on some race springs and call it a day...

I'd go with 225/45 on the 7" rim, That is what I am running on my 16's and it feels fine (Toyo T-1S's & Goodyear GS-D3's).
I'd also look for a 245/40 for the 8" rear to keep the profile looking the same.
                  I wish I had 8" rears.

Just out of curiousity, are you putting out some decent HP to work tyres that big??

I orderd the 225/45 and 245/45 today. I went with the 245/45 in rear because they are just a tiny bit taller and with the higher arches they should fill the well a bit better. They are should result in a near perfect speedo.

Well, Barrett fell through so the search for an engine resumes.
