Daytime Running Lamps

alright in 1990 bmw all came with daytime running lamps, *sorta*
the headlamps would just turn on when you turn to ignition on. but they would turn off and parking lights would only show when the headlamps switch is in spot one, i was wondering if i swap the headlamp switch would i get rid of my dyatime running lamps?

heres a explation of when they are on.

accs with headlamp switch in off: off with no parking lights
accs with headlamp switch in pos 1: off but parking lights on.
acss with headlamp switch in pos 2: off but parking lights on.
run with headlamp switch in off: all lights on (headlamps/parking)
run with headlamp switch in pos 1: off but with parking lights on.
run with headlamp switch in pos 2: all lights on (headlamps/parking)

anyone know anythign about this?

I doubt anything is going to change other than the outer lamps shutting off when the highs are on because the DRLs are a relay type thing. You would have to track down the suspect relays that sense the ignition is on. Sorry I cant help further, I have never heard of an E30 with DRLs.

lol, thats why when i get another e30 pref m3 it will be pre 90 :)

I think there are E30's with DRLs in the Scandinavian border :roll:
