ok heres the story.. i had a remote start alarm installed in my e30 just last week.. everything was working GREAT no problems what so ever.. my brother asks me if he could borrow my car to go to the store.. my car was parked on the driveway with shifter left in reverse gear.. my brother uses the remote start and my car trys to run up my driveway cause it was in reverse.. i then told my brother to just get in the car and start it with the key.. it started and the engine was running REALLLLY ROUGH like it was running off 3-4 cylinders.. when we tried revving it the engine would shake really bad.. it got worst and worst to the point were it sounded like it was running off 1 cylinder and would only stay on for about 3-4 seconds.. now its gotten to the point where it wont start at all..
i took the car to EURO CAR SERVICE in san diego right off university ave.. 4 mechanics look at my car.. i have spark.. i have fuel.. crank sensor, mafs, icv, everything was checked out ok.. 2 mechanics say it might be a bad ECU or the main relay..
i was wondering if there was anything like a speed sensor on the tranny or somewhere on the motor that couldve been damaged while the car tried to start in reverse
sorry if all this might seem hard to understand
