Fudged install, may need new steering column?

Okay I feel really dumb posting this.

When I was installing my Momo hub for my steering wheel, I bought some lock washers that I THOUGHT were the right inner diameter. For those of you who don't know, the Momo hub sits further in towards the cluster and you need a small spacer behind the steering wheel lock nut. So I put them washers underneath the nut and started tightening. Easy enough and it looked okay. Now here's the problem:

The lock washers have stripped the splines on my steering column, and my Momo hub is pretty much locked in there. Luckily it's lined up straight so that I can just run the steering wheel.

What are my options? Should I find a spare steering column just in case I really do need to switch back to my airbag steering wheel? I'm wondering how hard/difficult a steering column swap is.

    TIA guys,
    Brandon

You should have used the OEM spacers. Why did you use lock washers?

Damn those are some soft splines. See if you can fix them with a hand file before you buy a new one.
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

What OEM spacers? Damnit I wished I had found out about these earlier...

I used lock washers because it was the only thing I could find at Orchard that had the inner diameter I needed.

The hub is stuck on, I don't think a hard file can reach in there. I could try it and see if I can just file the old splines away. Thanks a lot guys.
