    Problem where?

    I've just started doing auto-x's these last few months, and it's really helped me learn my car's handling characteristics. One thing I've noticed is at the extreme limit, like during decreasing-radius sweepers, there's a very noticable vibration in the front. I was in the car with a friend and I was going ~20mph, popped it into nuetral and turned the wheel as hard as I could to the left and it starts vibrating, and he commented "That sounded horrible."

    What causes that? Is that normal?

    From what I remember in my bentley readings it could be that the opposing trailer arm is failing. This means your drivers side trailer arm might be failing. I am looking through my Bentley but I forgot which section it was in.

      Sounds like a Front wheel bearing. They are cheap and i would recommend replacing them if you are Xing

        Haha, it's been a while, but I'm going home this weekend and jacking up le car. It occurs on both left and right turns, so would it be that both the trailing arms are failing?

        I don't have my bentley with me, so I can't check. How do you check if the front wheel bearing is good or not?

          Jack up the car, grab the tire (with the steering locked) and try to shake the wheel back and fourth. If it has play you either have a worn out tie rod or a worn wheel bearing.
