i get this loud humming noise that completely drowns out every other sound at speeds above 35mph and getting louder upto 70mph. its coming from somehwere in the rear. i thought it might have been the trans or dif but i changed botht he fluids and the noise isnt gone. so now im thinking it might be the rear wheel ebaring. does this sound like symptoms of a bad wheel bearing? and if so how hard is it to change the wheel bearing?

Don't forget the carrier bearing or a u-joint. They seem to wear out sooner and easier . Crawl underneath . grab the driveshaft twist back and forth.See if anything moves around too much.
Open your windows somewhere where it is quiet.
Drive slowly down the road.
Turn hard to the right.
If the sound stops . it is right rear wheel bearing .
Vise versa.
Don't forget the cvc joints .Check the boots for damage.
