    Air conditioning question

The air conditioning in my car has been converted to R134a. I am replacing my compressor (which is shot) with another compressor from a car still running R12. What will I need to transfer to the new compressor or put on the new compressor prior to installation in the car? I did not do the conversion, so not familiar with the process.

Probably nothing but the compressor. Unless it was actually changed out during the conversion. Usually it's just emptying the system, and vacing down and recharging.

Just swap 'em around. However, you will have to have the system vacuumed fully to remove any of the R12 oil still in the old compressor, as it is not compatible with the R134a upgrade stuff. Vacuuming is part of the recharge process, normally, but tell the shop what it is you've done so they know how to deal with it.
