    Need Help Asap!!! Mold

Just took my back seat out to install rear headrests. I have black mold on the lower seat section.

What can I do to get mold out or kill it atleast from foam? Will Clorox eat foam? Should I be worried in a not so air tight convertible?

    Thanks guys

if its a nice day there, Id leave it out in the sun. then find a less caustic cleaner. To kill the last of it.

well, Knowing my luck, id spill some on the leather. And i think its a bit of overkill. I believe they make a bathroom cleaner. That kills mold.

You could dilute it 25%rox 75% water and spray it on from a spritzer type bottle and leave it in the sun.

black mold is really dangerous, we had that stuff in the office building i'm working on and had to call a hazmat team to certify the clean-up. Make sure you kill it 100% and dont breathe it in, wear a respirator.

I was told that it would help to first put vinegar on it

Ooo..I am. TV in the garage, I am still in Toledo. What did you use to poke holes through the leather when you installed your rear headrests? Have the brackets and everything in.

Also, Is your rear headrest going with the contour of the rear seat? Its kinda a stupid question but aren't they going to be alittle angled?

I used a very sharp knife to very carefully cut the holes. If you can, use a long, sharp pick to poke the holes from the bottom up through the leather to make sure you have the holes in the right place.

The headrests will not perfectly align with the top of the seat. I usually leave mine one notch up above the seat top so they don't touch the seat - looks better that way. Play around with them once you get them installed.
