I have a 93 e30 vert.
So a couple weeks ago my battery died and I had to get a new replacement interstate battery. So after I get the new battery I decide to check out my charging system and I found that my voltage at the battery was 12.5 V with the car running. Then I decided To replace the voltage regulator and bought a new Bosch one. However, I was still getting 12.8 V on the battery (car off) and 12.5 V with the car running. Battery light does go on and off at startup. Wasn't sure why. So since my alternator was over 10 years d. I got a reman Bosch and put it in this week. However the charging voltage of the battery never changed and still is lower than the static battery. (battery fully charged before I started the car runs 12.9 V static now). Walking through my voltmeter I tested voltage at the alternator to starter connection and I get 14 V. But I did get 12.3 V at the battery. The battery to starter cable is pretty solid. Seems kind of odd for this cable to fail. When I get home I'll disconnect this cable and clean up the contact at the starter.
Any insights?
