    testing a sending unit??

electricals not my strong suit. can you test a sending unit??
i lost oil pressure on the track yesterday at 7k. i watched the gauge drop to zero but it was acting jacked up earlier in the day. it was reading 10-15lbs high on the straight and twitchy. i shut it down immediatley and took it off the track but if i had actually lost oil pressure my motor would have been toast. it runs fine with no noises. gotta be a gauge or a sending unit. wiring seems fine. its an electrical autometer.

If you short the gauge to ground it should max out. Just unplug it and touch the wire to the engine. If it does max out, swap the sending unit. If the sending unit doesnt do it I dont have to tell you what you've got coming.
