    Gasket cement?

I posted this on another forum and am getting conflicting answers. When replacing the thermostat housing, should I use gasket cement between the new housing and the head or not? Both surfaces are clean- and I don't want to muck up what I don't have to. Opinions appreciated!

Oh, ya, what torque you guys recommend? Bentley says nada about this.

I would use copper permatex. It's relatively easy to clean off if something goes wrong, and cheap insurance against having to do it again.

Thanks- any ideas on torquing the nuts when I put it back on?

I use spray glue from 3M to hold the gasket in place.
