    Help finding my gas leak

So today I fill her up with a full tank for the first time and drive to my dad's hose 11 miles away. I pull into his driveway and leave the car for 5 min. His driveway is slightly slanted and the car was leaning to the driver's side. There was gas leaking in front of the rear driver's tire. It was coming from the top (or near top) of the tank. I got home and it does not leak right now, only if I jack the pass. side up where the pass. rear tire is about 5 inches off the ground. Tank is still full, just not as full. Are we looking at a line here (there are a few there) or a tank? Looks like the top line will require me to drop the tank anyways:( Yes I searched too.

    Thanks.

My filler hose was rotten on my car when I first got it. Did you check that?

If not the filler hose (I need to replace mine too, rotted throughout), I had a ford once where the tank rusted through under the straps. Couldn't see it till you removed the straps holding the tank to the frame.

          Drivers side?

It sounds more like the fuel line going to (or away) from the pump. The filler hose is on the passenger side so I'm kinda doubting that. On some models the fuel pump is located at the drivers side rear tire well.

          Good luck!

fuel pump gasket. Bad habit on these cars when the pump has been in there for a bit. The gasket cracks and starts to leak gas. When it happened to mine it started when I filled my tank and I noticed a gas smell if I took a corner to quick. It accelerated to that if I filled my tank it would leak down to a quoter tank. $7.00 fix if that is what the problem is.

Mine has a panel under the rear seat, I assume yours does too. Pop te seat bottom out and check if there is an oval panel under there. If so, pulling the pump is still kind of a PITA. Pull the sending unit first (has 4 small nuts on studs holding it in) then the pump comes out pretty easy.
