What's involved in replacing rear differential seals

Hi all, I was just curious what's involved in replacing the rear differential seals, like what has to be taken off to get to it etc.

No I don'ty plan on doing this myself either :). Just want to learn.

You need to jack up the rear, drain the diff oil. Remove the speed sensor, unbolt the back cover, and unbolt the large 19 from the body mount. Replace gasket, reinstall. Don't forget to put oil back in it, and hook up the speedo sensor!

I think that covers it all, it's been a while though

Well, that's just for replacing the cover gasket. I thought he was asking about the output flange seals...

If you are asking about the output flange seals: Jack up the car, unbolt the drive axles from the diff, use a prybar to pop out the output flanges, use a screwdriver to prey out the old seals, clean area, press in new seals. I use a hammer and a socket to tap in the new seals.

Oops yep, I was asking about the flange seals erik is talking about. Thanks to both of you for the information! Now I know what's involved in just the gasket as well :).
