    thermostat question

Hi, my car is runs at 1/4 temp mark all the time and im running rich. I'm looking into buying a new thermostat, but I was wondering what the difference was between the 71, 75, and 80 degree units. I live in texas so which do you think would be best?

Also, i replace the blue coolant temperature sensor but I was wondering what the brown sensor right next to it is for.

    Thanks.

80* is the standard unit. Go with that. You probably have either a stuck thermostat or a 71* in there now.

The brown sender is for the gauge in the dash.

Common sense- It's the new 'gifted'

Go with the 80. I had two m20's prior to my 318 and even in 105 degree heat my guage never went above 1/2, even when driving it real hard.
