Loud fuel pump after replacing fuel tank with aftermarket tank

Since my original fuel tank of my ix touring started too leak, I decided to get an aftermarket fuel tank.
I've been noticing since then that I can hear my fuel pump very clearly, I couldn't before, especially when sitting still in traffic.
Even when you stand next to the car you can hear it buzzing.

Why would replacing the tank cause this? It worked fine before replacing the tank. Any suggestions on what the cause could be?

Anyone that has replacing his tank with a aftermarket one and had this too?

Maybe the aftermarket tank is thinner metal and vibrates more?

      fuel noise

on mine the fuel pumps are pretty noisy anyway... not the one int he tank so much, but the external one. If you replaced the in tank with an aftermarket, then it coudl easily be much louder than oem.

It may be that the tank is resonating... and with a little damping you could stop it. it's an idea I'd try if I were you and there was nothing else wrong. There may not be the same level of rust proofing sprayed on it.

It felt pretty heavy when I first picked it up, I think there it's pretty close to the original one, weight wise.

I couldn't hear the pump when it was fitting in my original tank. As far as I know it's still the original one.

I'll look into getting some dampening on it. Hopefully that solves the issue.. It's driving me insane lol
