    A/C issues

Searched a bit on the forums and online but haven't seen anyone who is or had the same issue I am going thru.

325is, late 87 model. I did a dash swap with a friend and now my A/C doesn't work, coincidentally. The snowflake does not turn on, but the recycle button does. The clutch does not engage, however, taking a voltmeter to it, it powers on, (the light doesn't) but the A/C cools.

It would seem I have power past the high and low pressure cut off switch just before the evaporator temp switch, and that's because I couldn't find it to test that out. But I am thinking that may be the culprit? Is it behind the HVAC panel or in the glovebox area?

Does anyone have any other ideas what it could be? Tried a used switch too that was working and that didn't do it either.

    Thanks in advance!

there's a relay under your dash up near the gas pedal by one of the floor level hvac vents held in by a metal clip called the evaporator temp control relay.. it's usually black in color and 3" x 1" x 1" with 8 or so prongs. Make sure that's plugged in.

I'm reading your post again - how does your a/c cool if the clutch doesn't engage? Are you seeing battery voltage after the temp switches at the dryer?

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheels
