Weird Wiper issue

Today while the wipers were on intermittent, the washer jets started going off on their own and the wipers sped up. I turned off the wipers and everything stopped. Now I only have two wiper speeds, intermittent and fast (I cant tell without reference if its the fastest or medium speed). The jets still work, however they do not do the auto wipe (mine never did).

I'm leaning towards the stalk switch. Anyone have any experience with this? It's a 89 325is.

I experienced similar in a different car once and it was the wipe/wash switch, that's my vote.

Wiper relay

A new wiper relay seems to have fixed the issue but we'll see.
