#5 has compression, but isnt running right. Then there is a problem with ignition to cyl 5. Bad spark plug wire, craacked spark plug, cracked dist cap?

You did say one of the initial repairs was exhaust repairs so you must have been working in this area.

    Now I'm REALLY interested.

all plugs are sparking, none look bad, all were pulled and checked.

The distributor and rotor are fairly brand new, and i never touched that area, so ill assume they are fine.

Im putting on a new/ rebuilt head real soon, along with new plug wires while im there. ill see what that does.

Also, what should i check for while the head is off and i have access to the bottom end?

ps, if you are now REALLY interested, feel free to take a vacation and come look at it and try and figure it out yourself.

ALSO, is there any way teh increase exhaust pressure from the fixed flange had caused something in the head to go?

(i think im gonna pull the valve cover soon and see what things look like, hopefully ill find an obvious solution like a broken rocker arm or something..)

If you were closer I would!!

Just pick up another set of ignition wires and try them before you do all that surgery.

I suggested he have Rigmaster take a look at it, He's local somewhat to him.

i think ill pm him now,

              UPDATE,
i popped the valve cover, and nothing looks out of whack, i was expected a slipped rocker, or even a broken one, but nothing looked bad,

Im still leaning towards the flywheel weight broken or something, it really feels like its down there,

But, since the stethoscope didnt give anything away in that area, im not positive,

although it could be just barely broken and moved enough to give me this horrible fucking problem!

Maybe this is a stupid question but is there any way your firing order got mixed up?

                    nope and nope,

its from within the engine for sure,

                    im 95% towards the flywheel.

i agree with dropping / inspecting the tranny but for me.. right now, that is not feasible..
Besides, ive never done it and wouldnt know what the hell i was looking at.

                            Update.

I swapped in some stock rubber Jello bushings, and the Vibe went away.for the most part..

i was able to get out and run it decently for the first time.. So, my problem is the Urethane tranny mounts are just too stiff for me right now. But, that doesnt solve it.. there is definately a pre-existing problem that the Stock rubbers were masking.

a few minutes after i was driving i noticed a vibration almost showing up again.. it was a very "high-pitched" (whereas before it was a low pitching thumping) vibration..
what seemed is that i Mostly noticed it while coming to a stop with the throttle closed.. (ie, anytime theres a vacuum on the engine, thus changing the exhaust...)
This question is : does the IE exhaust have a slight rasp/ vibration when first put on? that seemed as so..

Now,, after pulling back up, i listened carefully.. with the Clutch out, and contacting the pressureplate/ flywheel or whatever (note my not-knowingness) there was a "rubbing chatter" ,almost like a turning noise, with an occasional single chatter here and there..
putting the clutch in it goes away.. completely and no sounds from that area.

                            what could that be?

what were the results of this condition after all the work done?

I recently noticed some minor vibrations which appeared to be coming from my drivetrain. I figured it was just from my worn front right tie rod. But a couple days ago, sitting in the parking lot waiting for my car to warm up, I revved the motor up to about 2k rpm. I felt that vibration.

The car was in neutral, clutch not pressed in, car at a standstill/parked. At about 2k rpm the vibration becomes noticeable. It continues, gradually getting more prominent until about 3.5-4k rpm. Then it just disappears. So from 2000-4000rpm, a vibration is noticeable.

In addition to that, when the car is in gear, and I am just moving at about 5-10mph, I can hear/feel a clicking sound coming from under the center console (where the driveshaft lies), but this is totally unrelated to the engine vibration.

Anyways, I'm just lookin for an update on this thread, or maybe new advice on my problem that I just stated above.
