    Car won't start!!

    1989 325is, manual

Left my car sitting for no more than 4 hours and went back to start it and nothing happened..no engine cranking, no noise, no clicking, nothing. I checked the fuses, though I wasn't sure which ones do what and all seemed fine. The car hasn't given me any issues before this, but I'm stumped. The battery seems fine since the lights all work fine and the cd player..any ideas?

starter or bad battery. If your battery has a low fluid level the lights may still work and the battery will still show 12V, but it will not start the car.

I vote bad battery. check the fluid level.

Check your engine ground, on the driver's side running from the frame to the oil pan. It'll probably look fine, but may be bad. To make sure take your jumper cables and put the negative clamp on the oil drain plug, and the other negative on the steering rack, or somewhere where you'll get a good ground. Then try and turn it over.

^I'll try that tomorrow morning when I can see what I'm doing.

On a side note the battery is about 2 months old, it has started up just fine in the past, quickly. My dad is now telling me that the ignition switch is broken saying that the key won't turn all the way. I'm not sure so I'm going to compare with his bmw tomorrow as well, since tonight I'm going to make more progress on my rx7

What do you know...I compared with my dad's bmw and my key does NOT turn all the way....anyone know if I'm going to have to take the whole damn thing apart or what? What I may end up having to replace, etc...It only goes 1 click.
