What headlights do i have?

I am looking to brighten up my lights for night time driving, I know some modification was done to the low beam, and the high beams are terrible, but the low beams seem pretty bright. Looking at the wiring, i know something is up as there is a adapter or something. Let me know what you guys think?

Those are the knock off version of what’s known as “ellipsoid” headlights... there’s lots of talk about conversion across many bmw boards, google search will show many results... your brand is depo, if you search you’ll see info on them as well, as for upgrading the wiring I’ve found this link that talks a lot about questions you may have http://users.rcn.com/nifftylion/head...%20-%20Pub.pdf

Yes, those are aftermarket, they're what's known as DEPO smileys. They take normal H1 bulbs you can buy at any auto parts store. Brighter bulbs are more expensive, so you probably have cheap bulbs in the high beams.

Go to https://store.candlepower.com/h1bulbs1.html and buy Narva Rangepower+ H1 bulbs. They're the best 55W bulbs you can get, and with my Bosch ellipsoids I can see over a quarter mile.
