Si board: buy a new one?

my inspection light always comes on........when i reset the inspection bar to go back to green, it only takes two to three engine starts to make the inspection light go back to red with the inspection light on. Sometimes the red portion and inspection light blinks rapidly wheni start it up and stops flashing after driving it for several minutes, and sometimes when i start the car the "inspection" word is only lighted and the "red portion" of the inspection bar isn't lit up. I was thinking my si board is just fucked up and i need a new one, or the battery on the si board is bad. What should i do? anyone else have this problem?

The batteries are dead. If you have $$ you can buy a new board and stick it in there. If not, get new batteries from radio shack or something, and become friends with your soldering iron.
