Window problem (electrical i think).... please help

    Here is what happened:

I have a voltmeter.... every time you lower or raise the windows it makes the voltmeter move... naturally. When the windows are closed... and you press the "up" window switch, the voltmeter moves also.... even though the windows are already closed.... no biggy.

My little duchbag brother thought it was funny to press the "up" window buttons at the same time when the windows are already closed... and yell... "look i'm draining your battery." At the same time he decided to press some other stuff also while pressing the window switches.

Bottom line.... my voltmeter doesnt work anymore.... its not getting any power to it i think. And at the same time the windows dont work anymore. Also at night when i have the lights on... the window switch lights dont come on either. However, the lights in the voltmeter come on... doesnt really say anything though.... they must be hooked up to something else that is getting power to it.

I also checked the all the fuses and they are fine. In fact, the windows fuse is the same one as my sunroof fuse and the sunroof works fine. What do you guys think it is? And how do i fix it? Please help b/c it so getto to open my door at tolls and such.

Is there a rectangular button in front of the passenger side window switches? If so, its your circuit breaker for the windows.

Yeah, its a visible button on late model e30s. If you have a bentley manual, check to see if you have a circuit breaker on your car. I wouldn't be suprised if there was one somewhere.

            Whup his ass.

The c.breaker is either in the panel where your hazzard and defogger buttons are or infront of the p.side window switch by the gear knob.
