Just go to the bone yard and pull the parts from another 325. It's a 100% easy swap, just takes a little time.

There's a battery tray that's mounted into that space behind the right rear wheel. It's held down with a couple of bolts, then the battery is held to the tray with a hold down bracket that screws into the tray.

Other than that, all you should need would be a + battery cable from an E30 with the battery in the trunk.

Yo, i JUST got done with this.

i have a cabrio and i moved it from the engine bay to the trunk.

              What you Need:
325E cable, and engine bay attachment block, it almost looks like a battery terminal connection, and it has several leads from the fuse box and harnes connected to it, it has two hex bolts holding it onto the firewall, the nuts for them are inside the passenger side air duct vent, pop that off and youll see them

you can also get the trunk battery tray, if you have a convertible, youll need to do a little cutting to get it to fit right, since we had the 50 pound dead weight mounted back there, not sure about other cars..

also, the little cable trim piece in the trunk looks nice to have too, and the battery cover tray if you want that.

RUN the cable through the back wall, at the bottom right side and remove the seats and follow the right side of the bottom of the lower seat curve, turn down the front of the back seats and (with the bottom side "mud guards" removed from inside) run it along the edge under the door sill, on the inside of the car.

remove the passenger (right side) speaker kick panel and snake it through there and out near the A/C lines entrance, (there is a knockout pre-cut there, in the battery tray, you should come out here. )

Just pay attention to how you removed the old one..

its not hard at all, just takes some creative juices in some spots,

Let me know if you need any pictures or other help.

              -ryan

Edit, GROUNDING, what i did was take two steel bolts and put them through the body, behind the bumper trim, covered the outside with silicone.

BE SURE to sand down the contact area to bare metal.

On a related note, does anyone know where to find the battery hold-down bracket(s) for the trunk? Aside from the bone yard...

umm, since i have an i convertible, and ive never seen any I's in a junkyard here, that is what im assuming, also, the M10 318 here, was bay mounted too. so that rulled out 318s for me.

If you are lucky enough to find an I in a junkyard, non-vert, then it may have it too.
