I was having temp gauge issues with it overheating but it being inconsistent and also random quick drops in temperature to slightly below the 1/2 mark. I followed this video to rule out rust and loose nut on the cluster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01N5G6fZTVI
With everything back together it now will never go past the 1/2 mark but both radiator hoses are pipping hot, I mean the bottom one was almost as hot as the top one.
That's the highest it went but the needle would always drop once I started driving and cool air would flow through.
