    Super ETA verification

    Car is a 1987 325

I did as much research as I could have before posting and all the signs are pointing to a SETA . I'm just looking for a m20 guru to give me the blessing [emoji119][emoji119]

That looks like a standard eta motor, not a "super eta" to me based on the following:

    - presence of the cold start injector on the intake
    - "L" shaped idle control valve
    - lack of a front crankshaft position sensor

If you can tell us the number on the engine control unit behind the glove box and if you see two sensors on the left side of the transmission bell housing that track the flywheel we can definitely confirm the engine type.

The super eta didn't come out until the 1988 model year.

I'm guessing your tachometer may have been swapped at some point. That's an "i" motor redline.

Yes it does have the 2 sensors on the left side of the transmission I will se if I can get the number on the control unit a s there was a sensor on the front of the engine I took off that was located on where I have circled..
