Wow What is this crap, exahust??

Started my baby today because I don't like to have her sitting around in the cold. When I start I have to give here a little gas and rev the engine a bit. Well today I got her started and reved up to 2.5k twice. When I got out of the car I found the crap that is pictured, I was like WTF, it looks like rusty water. What do you guys think and how did it get there? Car is running fine tho.

Let me know what you think.

Oh noes... you must have rusty gas!

    Seriously though.

Condensation -> Water accumulation in rusty exhaust pipes -> Rusty water splatters when you start the car = get your rusty car poop off my driveway before you stain it.

Ya, if you drive it more, this would not happen. It is normal though.

All cars acumulate a small amount of water and spray it out the exhaust. All the mositure that is in the air that goes into the engine has to come out someplace. When it's cold or humid out, you will see more water.

Well cool, thanks for the good explaniation, I have both cold and humid weather here right now in Ohio so that explains why there is such a larger accumulation.

running your car for short periods of time and not allowing it to fully get up to temp, creates more moisture in the exhaust, which in turn causes it to rust out at a increased rate. don't start the car for the sake of starting it every so often, you'll cause more harm then good, not just exhaust wise. if your going to be parking it for the winter find a spot to put it, drive it for a while get everything good and warmed up, park it there and leave it. done and done.

When dad and I went out and started the '41 ford pickup, has not been started in probably 20 years, that shit was all over. I covered proably 2/3's of the wall.
