my car is a track rat, so i'm not sure if this mod might apply to daily drivers.

i've decided on running no fan/fan clutch, just my auxiliary. of course, the fan does work, but never came on when temp rises. thought of chasing thermo switch/relay but relied on ingenuity instead. so i've figured a neat way to switch it on/off from dash. first off, i've previously removed the a/c condenser, so i fashioned some brackets so the aux fan now sits right up against the radiator. i had also removed my fogs (diving boards w/fogs, not too attractive) but left the wiring running to the bumper. i cut half the wiring from the removed old fog lamp, keeping the connector, and spliced it into the thermo-switch on the top-left side of the radiator. the fog lamp carries only two wires, so i spliced it in for the highspeed and as a push fan.. the other end i simply plugged into the wiring/connector for the fog lamp
so using the factory switch for the fog lamp, i can turn the fan on and off. it even gives a green light on the dash, so i can see that the fan is turned on.
my only dilemma so far, this only works with ignition on and low beam headlamps on. doesn't work with high beam or parking lamps only. i'm sure i will figure out how to run it to 'on ignition' and somehow bypass the headlamp interaction..
i'm happy because i really suck @ wiring ..
