Car won't start, a/f, cant figure it out

My car wont start, it was throwing a 1222 (lamda sensor 1) code.

it's not the idle control valve, it's not the afm, (I swapped both of them out). it's not the o2 sensor (I unplugged it and the car still didn't run).

It's not the fuel pump (it's new) and it's not the fuel filter (also new).

It won't start. If I crank it, it starts after about 5 tries, but dies a second later.

When the fuel pump was out I started it for a brief second to make sure the fuel pump was working and it started right up no problem (I turned it off right away).

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. Anyone know where I could get one?

so what do you guys think it is? fuel pressure regulator maybe?

Sounds like low fuel pressure. If it was a spark problem it wouldnt even start 'after 5 tries for a second.'

Recheck the fuel pump work. Pop off a fuel line on the motor and crank. It should gush out. If it just dribbles or doesnt let anything out then you know for sure.

That check engine code usually is thrown when the O2 sensor goes out of range toward the lean side.

Common sense- It's the new 'gifted'

i replaced the fuel pump since this happened (figured even if it werent the problem, whatever, its got 150k on it anway).

i cranked the car with the fuel filter off (so lines not connected) and fuel came out of the line

Do you get spark? If you don't its probably a bad speed reference/crank position sensor on the front of the motor.

if it were a spark problem wouldn't it not turn over at all? i mean it starts, it just dies out after a minute

If the ECU drops the speed input from the sensor then it will die.
