Steering rack question

Is it possible to rebuild an oem rack to different specs ? Does anybody in US offer this service ?

My car has an original rack as pretty much the only original/oem suspension component upfront. Everything else has been changed, and I would like to improve steering feedback, and decrease lock to lock ratio if possible.

Is my only option to buy a different rack and not bother with rebuilding ?

Buy an E36 rack and swap it out. Rebuliding is a bitch from what I've heard.

I am looking for one that will bolt right in w/o any fabrication though, that leaves me only to a custom rack or an e30 m3 non-air bag rack I think ?

Those are nice, have that site bookmarked but trying to weight all my options before going that route. Anybody got a lead on a used e30 m3 rack that will bolt right in ? What's a good price to pay for one ?

Since my car does not have AirBags, I have to get one from the car w/o an AirBag in order for it to bolt right in, is that correct ?
