    Vibrations, rough running, weird guages...

OK, so a buddy of mine up in Renton, WA. needs some help. His '87 325i is having some issues. The car runs rough, quite rough in all ranges, especially in higher gears. His fuel and temp guages act odd, gas reads WAY high, temp is moving with the car off. He has replaced the entire IP, ECU, DIC, checked all grounds, lots of diagnostic effort.

Any suggestions? Anyone in the area willing to pop by his place and check stuff out for him?

    Post resposes here.
    Thanks,
    Luke

tell him quick fix is to get a new car. :)

Main relay? that is all I can think of since all the other work has been done. If he is willing to come to Vancouver BC Canada I can check it out. Sounds like a fun one for sure.

I thought the main relay was a go/no go deal

Take the injector harness out and check the pins in it to see how corroded they are. Just an idea and taking it out/putting back in takes a whole 20 minutes.

I was thikning more if the connections in the relay are in the process of disconnecting it could be surging. Sounds like a fun problem.

I still like the new car option :)
