    engine question

I got a friend who has a 1989 325 i. I was looking at his engine and see that he has an eta valve cover. After some jokes he went to the internet and put the engine number in realoem because some friend tell us that that was the only way to know what engine his car got. the info that we get was that the engine block is an M21D24 from an european 324d.

so the question is, Is that good, bad or imposible? and if you got some info about that I would apreciate it.

I suppose it's possible. I think the actual block casting is the same. I'm not the expert though. Perhaps a "i" head can be used on a diesel lower end, I imagine it'd be torquey................
