    ?? about 318 v 325 brakes and spacers

    I searched without much success.

I bought the gold enkei weaves from Jean who had them on his '84 318 (15 x 7 et20). I went to bolt them to my '87 325 and they hit the front brakes.

so, whats the difference in the calipers? and ultimately, how much spacer do I need? Wheres the place to get a good deal on a spacer setup?

    thanks, Andy

I'm lookin at the Ireland 1/8" spacers and maybe some longer studs (our wheel bolt design is stupid)

I just hope its enough space to clear the calipers.

I didn't even notice that the wheels were against the caliper when bolting them on, but when I went to move the car, fronts wouldn't roll.

Well, your car has wider rotors/calipers. THe 84 318 has a solid rotor. You should measure how much room you need, then buy a spacer to fit. :)

When calculating the spacer, keep in mind also that new brake pads require a little more clearance than used up pads. As the pad wears down, the caliper move away from the wheel. So add a few extra mm's once you take your measurements, then add a few extra if your pads are really worn.

Andy, sorry they didn't fit your car :( Do this, figure out which spacers you need and let me know the total and i'll pay for half if that will help.

Hey, thanks a lot man! I ordered a set of spacers from Ireland for about $70. I'm going to switch to studs at the same time, but I don't expect you to throw in for those. :)
