I'm doing a relatively conservative knife edging on my 524td crank for my stroker project and it's going to shave about 8lbs off the crank. (td crank is 5lbs heavier than stock eta cast crank anyways) so I'll have an overall 3lbs weight savings...
the more you take off, the longer to perform and balance... resulting in increased costs and possibly a weaker overall crank.
Also, you don't want a crank that's TOO light since it would end up affecting your idle and torque...
