    Spark plug question: NGK BP6ES?

I just pulled that plug outta my 89 325i... is that even the correct plug? I am installing NGK ZGR5A's and as I was pulling the first one out, I found this plug in there from the previous owner. BTW, its my first oil and spark plug change on this car.

But yeah, the plugs are by the same manufacturer obviously, but the different models scares me. Is there a place where I can find out what vehicles this particular model is meant for?

In comparison to the ZGR5A, it is a colder plug I believe, because the insulator nose length is shorter by about 2-3mm, correct me if I am wrong. But either way, should this have been in there or not?

This is NGK's product listings on their site mate. Both are fine for the cars, Technically the BP6ES is for the early high compression engines.

Below is a link to the breakdown of the plugs coding, Quite handy to tell the differences between the plugs.

lol. That's the same plug I run in my MG. Favored plug by many for MGB's.

Yup, its fine in the M20 engine. i run the ZGR plug in my 88 325 and its never had any problems. May as well use the reccomended plug imo.
