Strut bar help Very quick question

I know strut bars have been touched on a thousand times but I really cant get the answer I need.

I am attempting to install my IE bar. I link it the passenger side and it doesn't reach by maybe a 1/4 inch. It is really close but it wont' pop on.

I have read that people jack the car up in the middle, well won't that put stress on the outside of the car making the car get wider? This is what I would do if it went over its mark by a 1/4 inch.

My doesn't need to get wider it needs to come in not out which I think would happen if I jacked it up in the middle

I have the car jacked up on the driverside, side that I am trying to reach. I haven't tightened the bolts to anything yet so thats not the problem.

Anyone suggestions? Should I keep it jacked up on the driverside and let it sit for a long time or will that do anything useful?

    Thanks for the help
    DJ

Don't the IE bars come in two lenths? Sounds like you are doing the right thing. I think your bar is physicly to short.

Don't put it on over completely over the studs on the side that it does reach ...just kind of rest ontop of them .

Then start jacking or whatever you need .
You can also help it along by pushing on the bar flange to get it over the studs .

Just play with it a little bit .

          There is only 2 sizes.

I have the largest one so it has to be the right size.

That, or your car has been wrecked and not repaired correctly.

It hasn't been wrecked, at least thats what the owner said. I think I just have some sag, lets just hope that its sag.

The cars that have sag, tend to have sag inwards as that is where the weight/stress would tend to be placed on the framerails, no?

Thats what I have read but mine is only of a very small bit. It's small but I do find it weird that EVERYthing is right there by the driverside strut tower. There are so many hoses there but maybe thats normal, haven't really taken time too look at anyone elses engine bay that closely.

Throw up some pics and we can try to help figure it out.

I tried to do it opposite and it is even closer. I pulled really hard and almost got it on...time for the rubber malet.

ITS ON!! I put it on the driverside. I pulled really hard and it got on to the front screw. So I though lower the car alittle, worked. Get on the second screw. Everything is tightened down. But I have one problem.

While putting it on I lost one of the nuts some where in the engine bay. I took the other to replace it so I could at least get the strut bar on and done.
Is it life or death if I have 2 of 3 strut nuts on for a day?

Now its off to shadowlining a kidney.

I am just following this. My nose feels funny, a piece of advice, do acetone some where that has good air circulation.
