I think my clutch master and slave cylinders are going :(

Every now and then i get this greasy oily shit on one of my feet when driving in bare feet... Do you think this is the master cylinder leaking ? Its a kind of clearish substance but quite greasy and sticky. Are these cylinders hard to replace ? and is it costly ? My car has 120000 km (75000Miles) on it and i doubt these parts have already been replaced.

    Edit: My Car is a 1990 318is

There's not really any fluid down by your feet except for that. Is your clutch pedal operating normally? Replacing the master cyl is kind of annoying, but not difficult. Master cylinders are like $50-60. There are two bolts that hold it to the pedal box, one bolt that mounts the piston to the clutch pedal, and the nut on the line on the other side of the firewall (which is a pain to get to).

Make sure the fluid is comparable to that in your reservior, and make sure it doesn't dip below the clutch line on the side of the reservior.
