    rear battery conversion problems

I recently did a rear battery conversion, and I drove it right after I got it hooked up and it ran fine.

I re-did the installation the next weekend because the battery cable wasn't long enough by a few inches (remounted distribution box, rethreaded battery line, tucked it under the carpet, ect...), and ever since then it has not been starting, like the battery is dead.

I recharged it overnight, and it would start, but it died after about 30 seconds.

I don't have access to my car right now (I'm in college, only see the car on weekends), and when I get back I'm going to have autozone check the battery. It's a year old Bosch unit, so I don't see how it could be going bad already.

Anybody have any idea what it might be if it's not the battery?

Double check all the connections and wiring. Check battery voltage when the car is off (should be around 12.5-12.7v or so) and check it when the car is running (should be around 13.7-14.1v).

What gauge cable are you using?

It was a bad battery, as I suspected. Works great now.
