we have a drag racing 8V class till 1900cc (my class) and i want to win that next year... most participating cars are stock or with few mods
you are so naive to be hoping to win a drag race class in one year.

high compression pistons, drag race cam, say hello to spending about $1000 with a really good head porter, ferrea valves $$$, upgraded valve springs, crankshaft lightening/knife edging, crank scraper/windage tray, some sort of custom computer to run it since stock can't control huge injectors and the massive increase in air-flow...low tension rings...i mean there is a crap load of stuff you are going to need to compete.

so i hope you have a good friend who knows lots about engine building because you are going to end up with a terdbox that makes about 130rwhp if you go the R3v way.

300 degree cam with as much lift as possible, distributor, ported head, bigger valves, independant throttle bodies, 11:1 compression or higher pistons, balanced bottom end (at least, consider lightweight rods), headers, no cat... That should get you close to 100hp per liter, but still, thats like... 180hp.

My 335i with no mods has 218hp and 232ft/lbs of torque in a package that MIGHT weigh 150lbs more than your car. Early eta chassis, no AC, and an M30 that is ~55lbs heavier than the M20 it replaced. I think you are wasting time with the M10... Swap it!

if he is drag racing only, he could do 14:1 pistons and run vp116. you can get more than 1hp/liter with a drag motor.

n/a endurance motors in sprint cars run 14:1 on alcohol and make 800+hp out of 400ci (about 6.6L)

thanks alot... i am not a dreamer... i am going to buy parts time by time, not all together, and its not going to be a drag racer... each weekwnd i go to the track to practice ;)
at the first step i would like to get a cam, valve springs, and lighten the flywheel...
and are there any stock ecu-s availale instead of mine that can be chip tuned the way i like?
