Koni's and GC

For those of you with Koni's with your Ground Control's, did you expereince any problems with putting the stock retaining collers on the Koni's. I heard that the stock ones rub and make a squeaking noise, so you have to get the Koni retaining collers. If you did go with the Koni Retaining collers which ones did you go with? Thanks

Which collars are you talking of? The gland nut that holds the shock into the strut housing?? My Koni SAs came with gland nuts that fit just fine, NO squeaking.

I was talking about the strut cartridge retaining collers, I read it on a web site. He has an E30 M3 though, so it may be different, just trying to find out before I start. Here is the web site

It depends on the ones you get. GC has sold different versions of Konis over the past. I didn't get mine from GC so you can see how mine worked out. I also though it was gonna make contact with the spring but it didn't.

Thanks for the pictures, they were helpful, I didn't get mine from GC either I went through True Choice Motorsports, better pricing for the same shocks and struts. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I called GC and they claimed there is not an issue. SO we shall see here in the next few days. Thanks again for the help

I have the GC spring kit with Koni single adjustables. When i first assembled it my stock gland nut rubbed the inside of the GC spring just like my pal's E30 M3 setup did (Gustave). GC recommended grinding the outer diameter of the stock gland nut down or buy their custom made piece, so i bought their GC piece. Problem solved :-)
