    Tach input?

Can someone tell me where to find the tach input for my '84 325e? According to the C101 diagram, the tach does not get its signal from any of the wires at that plug... I would imagine it gets the signal from the reference sensor in the bellhousing, but I am using an L-Jetronic harness... I'm lost

Maybe I'll get an aftermarket tach or something...

L-jetronic harness have tacho and mpg gauge feed wire inside the dashboard, like 10 cm from ECU, 3 pin connector:

Green for +12, OBC cuts this +12v feed when code function is used, so this wire must be connected on some other green wire to get engine running.

    Black tacho signal

    Yellow/something MPG signal.

EDIT: 1984 car should have matching connector beneath dash.

EDIT: from which car is your l-jet harness? I automaticly though it was like m20b20 harness, but you are using e23 or e28 harness?

    BMW 320i 4d 2,2 m54 -01

      I am using an E24 / E12 L Jet harness.

The engine starts and runs without those functions actually, Im just trying to get the factory tach to work. Thanks for the info!

If you can't locate the tach output, connect the black wire beneath the dash to coil- or to yellow wire from ignition module.

Sorry I remembered the wrong way around.

          Black is for MPG.

          Yellow/something is for tach.
